As an educational institution, UPH accepts prospective students from various ethnicities, religions, races, both national and international. This is a form of UPH’s commitment to advancing and providing services for all groups. All prospective students will follow a selection process, both administrative and academic, to be accepted into their intended study program.

This is regulated in the Rector’s Regulation No 001\/2023<\/a> (Article 57)<\/strong> for Diploma 3 program, Rector’s Regulation No 003\/2023<\/a> (Article 55) <\/strong>for Graduate program, and Rector’s Regulation No 004\/2020<\/a>  (Article 60)<\/strong> for Undergraduate and Diploma 4 program.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

UPH has data from complete student profiles and is in the Academic Information System. This Academic Data captures all student profiles which includes demographic data, geographic data and other data required by the institution. As part of its efforts to provide opportunities for various groups to pursue higher education, UPH provides scholarships aimed at prospective students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, educational achievement scholarships, sports scholarships, and also scholarships for refugees.

ACCESS TO UNIVERSITY UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS RECRUIT<\/h3><\/div><\/div>

Every year, there is a unit from the Pelita Harapan Education Foundation (the foundation that oversees UPH) which moves to recruit prospective student recipients of scholarships from the Foundation which consist of various schemes. So far there are full-board scholarships for all study program students: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Faculty of Nursing<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    <\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Then for several other faculties, full-board scholarships are also available for selected students. The recruitment and selection process has requirements and considerations for passing the selection. Recruitment and selection is carried out by YPPH in various regions in Indonesia, including remote areas that are difficult to reach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ANTI-DISCRIMINATION POLICY<\/h3><\/div><\/div>

    UPH has regulations and policies related to anti-discrimination, pursuing ethnical behaviour and integrity for both students, faculty members, and other staff. These regulations are stated in UPH Rector’s Decree No 003.001\/2023<\/a> about The Code of Ethics for UPH Students, The YUPH Company Regulations<\/a> (Article 5 on Employee Code of Conduct) and code of ethics for lecturers and education staff Rector’s Regulation No 006\/2023 Code of Ethics for UPH Employee<\/a> for all staff of UPH. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Moreover, anti-violence policies are regulated in Rector’s Regulation No 007\/2023<\/a> concerning Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) at UPH. To ensure enforcement of this regulation, an anti-violence task force \u2013 Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) was formed. This shows UPH\u2019s seriousness in dealing with the problem of bullying and violence, including preventing and handling discrimination. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    UPH is a campus founded on Christian faith and centered on Christ. Therefore, an attitude of respect, respect and love for fellow human beings is an important attitude to practice in campus life.       As a higher education institution, UPH is committed to not only developing students’ academic abilities, but also developing the soft skills of existing students. For this reason, there is a Student Life unit whose task is to carry out mentoring, counselling, or peer support programs to support students, staff, and faculty, including those in the underrepresented groups category. 

      The following are some of the existing systems: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. There is a mentoring system, where senior students will become mentors for new students. Mentors will accompany new students from the moment they enter until the student graduates. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. There are facilities for counseling, namely at the HOPE counseling center. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. There is also a mechanism in each study program under the coordination of faculty and study program leaders to handle various problems for students who need assistance. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

        Support and services for lecturers, staff and students with special needs are provided by UPH in the form of physical facilities and infrastructure, policies and regulations, as well as assistance if needed. Everything is given in accordance with UPH’s existing capabilities and capacities. Physical facilities and infrastructure include: ramps in each building, elevator facilities, toilet facilities for people with special needs. Various policies and regulations do not limit the movement space for people with disabilities as long as they can still participate in existing activities. Furthermore, assistance will be provided if there are people with disabilities who need it, and is requested through a certain mechanism taking into account UPH’s ability to provide it. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

        The access scheme for all people who have special needs is provided through mentoring activities and also an appointed Person in Charge (PIC), both at university, faculty and study program levels. Handling of the academic community with special needs is provided in an integrated manner, and often case by case depending on the problem. So far, UPH has tried its best to provide opportunities for people with disabilities as long as they are able to carry out activities according to the conditions in their respective study programs. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

        There are several policies to accommodate people with special needs to be able to carry out activities at UPH, especially during the registration process.         As a Christian University that prioritizes character, UPH emphasizes that the campus is free from all acts of violence and harassment. This is regulated in UPH Students Code of Ethics contained in Rector’s Decree No 003.001\/2023<\/a> (articles 14-15).
