Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) is committed to promoting good health and well-being, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 3. The university offers medical clinics, mental health counseling, and wellness programs to support the physical and mental well-being of its students, faculty, and staff. UPH provides sports facilities and organizes activities to promote an active lifestyle, while also emphasizing mental health support. The university advances health sciences education and research and engages with local communities through health campaigns and services. UPH integrates health and sustainability, aiming to create a healthier, resilient community that contributes to broader sustainable development goals.

UPH Clinic by Siloam Clinic

Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) collaborates with local, national, and global health institutions to improve health and well-being outcomes.

    UPH also partners with College of Medicine, Taipei Medical University in order to promote education and scientific research to improve health and well-being outcomes.

  1. In national level, UPH especially Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health Science, and Faculty of Nursing, collaborates with several health institutional both private institutions and public institutions, to improve education, research, and community service in health sector. UPH collaborates with PT Siloam Hospitals International, Tbk which oversees the Siloam Hospitals network throughout Indonesia to send doctors to remote areas of the country.

  1. In local level, UPH collaborates with some institution, such as Siloam Hospital Kelapa Dua, Klinik Siloam, Puskesmas. UPH collaborates with Siloam Clinic provides students and staff with healthcare. UPH also worked together with Siloam Hospitals Kelapa Dua to against Covid-19 through vaccination for public. Some activities to improve health also hosted by UPH and Siloam, as example is ”International Nurses Day conference 2023: Our Nurses, Our Future” is held to improve nurses’ competencies (Perkuat Kompetensi Perawat, Siloam dan Fakultas Keperawatan UPH Gelar Seminar Bertajuk Our Nurses, Our Future – UPH | Universitas Pelita Harapan – UPH | Universitas Pelita Harapan) 

HEALTH OUTREACH PROGRAMMES

UPH supports improving and promote heatlh and well-being by doing many health outreach programmes, the programmes held by faculty members and students.  

Every year, students coordinated by the Community Service, Student Executive Board carry out blood donation activities that are open for students and public. In 2023, the blood donation activity with the tagline “Live Life, Save A Life” was attended by 291 people.  

The Student Executive Board Community Service also holds the Let’s Be Healthy activity which is carried out every year, where in 2023, Mari Sehat (Let’s Be Healthy) has the theme SERBU: Sehat Bersama, Bahagia Selalu, containing joint exercise activities, free health checks, and MPASI and Stunting counseling which was held at the Marga Mulya Village. 

SHARED SPORTS FACILITIES

UPH has many sports facilities including a soccer field, jogging track, futsal field, basketball court, badminton court, swimming pool, and fitness center. Some facilities can be used free of charge by the public, usually UPH sports facilities are crowded with the public on weekends.

SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR STUDENTS

UPH strongly supports sexual health for students. UPH strictly prohibits sexual violence on the UPH campus. This is proven by the existence of a Rector’s Regulation that regulates the prevention and handling of sexual violence in the UPH environment, and to handle this problem a special task force team was formed for the prevention and handling of sexual violence at UPH.

Staff and lecturers were provided with information and strategies for handling sexual violence in the Socialization Activity for Prevention & Handling of Sexual Violence organized by the UPH PPKS Task Force Team. 

Students were also given an understanding of sexual violence in the ELEFAITH 2023 Charity Talk Show & Concert with the theme “METOO Prevent Sexual Harassment: Motivate, Educate, Transform, Open, Overcome”. 
 

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS

Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) provide students with access to mental health support, such as: 

  1. Academic Advisor and Mentoring
    Each student has an academic advisor from among the lecturers and a mentor from their seniors. Their presence monitors and supports the condition of students so that they remain positive and do not experience psychological disorders caused by the burden of lectures.
  2. Hope Counseling Center Fasilitas Kampus Universitas Pelita Harapan – UPH | Universitas Pelita Harapan 
    Located in the HOPE building, Hope Counseling is available to provide counseling services freely. Hope also provide various paid tests for family, relationships, education, and career matters (MMPI, TJTA, IQ, etc).

    Cornerstone Psychological Center provides psychological examination services, counseling, and other psychological practices to understand oneself more deeply, find solutions to various problems/challenges faced and assistance from psychologists to develop oneself to be healthier mentally and spiritually. Cornerstone Psychological Center services can be utilized by staffs, students, and public on a paid basis. 
    Counseling services provided include: counseling for children, adolescents, adults, marriage, parenting, careers, education, children with special needs. 

SMOKE-FREE POLICY

Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) is a campus that is consistently implementing antismoking. The slogan ‘A Non-Smoking Campus’ are seen in every strategic place in the campus environment.

This slogan is made real by the application of a firm, ranging from strict regulations with penalties to a coaching program created to make UPH campus as a clean campus, even the prohibition of smoking is also stated in the Rector’s regulation on the UPH Student Code of Ethics. It aims to create a healthy and comfortable environment for everyone who is on the campus of UPH. This was proven when Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) successfully placed 23rd out of 66 national universities and 451st out of 719 international universities on the 2018 UI GreenMetric ranking, which is an internationally recognized university ranking system based on environmental sustainability criteria. UPH implements a “Smoke-Free Campus” by consistently holding campaigns to combat S.A.D. (Free Sex, Smoking, Alcohol and Drugs) through University, student association, and students activities.
