UPH IRDP 2024 Expands Community Access to
Health Services in Wanayasa Village

TANGERANG, 2024 – The International Relations Development Program (IRDP) 2024, organized by the International Relations Student Association of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), is dedicated to improving community access to essential health services. With the theme “Sehat Desaku” and the tagline “Kesehatan Bukan Pilihan, Tapi Kebutuhan”, the program highlights the urgency of health as a fundamental necessity, particularly in underprivileged rural communities.
In collaboration with the Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) UPH, the initiative provides comprehensive medical check-ups, targeting residents of Sampang Kulon, Wanayasa Village, who often face barriers to adequate healthcare facilities. Alongside this, health education through “Dokter Kecil” sessions equips elementary students with knowledge about hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare, ensuring that healthy practices are instilled from a young age.

The program also incorporates environmental cleanup activities around local health facilities such as Puskesmas Pembantu (Pustu), ensuring that the surrounding environment supports sustainable community well-being. Furthermore, with donations reaching IDR 8,000,000, the initiative supports the establishment of basic healthcare facilities and provides essential medical supplies for the community.
Through IRDP 2024, UPH demonstrates its commitment to SDG 1 by ensuring that access to basic health services is not a privilege, but a right for all. By combining healthcare delivery, education, and community empowerment, this initiative strengthens resilience and promotes inclusive well-being in Wanayasa Village.
