TANGERANG, 2024 Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) has entered a formal partnership with the Tangerang City Government to enhance regional development through joint initiatives in education, research, and community service. The agreement was officially signed on February 13, 2024, by University Rector Jonathan L. Parapak and Tangerang’s Acting Mayor, Nurdin. 

The collaboration is intended to synchronize the university’s academic functions with the city’s governance and community development programs. The scope of the agreement covers several key areas, including the joint design of development programs and public policies, as well as studies on improving infrastructure for education and research within Tangerang. 

Focusing on the concept of a “smart city”, the partnership aims to improve public services by utilizing information technology and developing new models for community empowerment. These models will address economic, social, legal, and environmental challenges to improve the quality of life and welfare of the city’s residents. Furthermore, the collaboration will include advocacy and socialization efforts aimed at fostering human-centered development and enhancing the quality of human resources across the city. 

The comprehensive agreement outlines a structured framework for cooperation, with activities planned to run until December 31, 2026. Both parties have committed to regular monitoring and evaluation, to be conducted at least once every six months, to ensure the effective implementation and sustained impact of the joint programs.
