UPH’s 8th NCBMA Conference Highlights Industry and Innovation as Drivers of Sustainable Growth
TANGERANG, 2025 – Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) successfully hosted the 8th NCBMA National Conference on Business, Management, and Accounting, carrying the theme “The Role of Industries and Innovation in Achieving Global Sustainability Goals.” The conference, held online via Zoom, gathered academics, professionals, and business leaders from across Indonesia to exchange ideas on how innovation and industrial transformation can drive sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive global economy.
The event featured prominent keynote speakers including Hiramsyah S. Thaib, President Director and Group CEO of PT Gobel International; Tantowi Yahya, President of United in Diversity Indonesia and former Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand; and Prof. Dr. Ardi Kho, M.M., Akt., Professor of Human Resource Management and Management Consultant. Each speaker shared perspectives on the need for industries to balance productivity and sustainability while preparing human capital for the challenges of digitalization, global competition, and environmental change.
Throughout the sessions, speakers and participants emphasized that sustainable economic progress requires innovation that uplifts people, not just profits. Businesses today are called to operate responsibly, ensuring that growth leads to meaningful employment, fair opportunities, and positive impact on communities. The conversation also highlighted how new technologies—such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and digital finance—are reshaping industries and creating demand for adaptive, skilled professionals who can integrate ethics with innovation.
Co-hosted by Permata Insani Islamic School, Universitas Kristen Maranatha, and Sampoerna University, the conference provided a dynamic space for collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers. Discussions covered a wide range of topics including green financing, sustainability accounting, innovation management, corporate social responsibility, and human resource development—all aimed at fostering a business ecosystem that is both competitive and sustainable.
Beyond academic exchange, the conference reflected UPH’s continuing commitment to building a future-ready workforce equipped with integrity, creativity, and a sense of purpose. By connecting research with real-world practice, UPH continues to empower students and professionals to become leaders who can innovate responsibly, contribute to economic resilience, and drive Indonesia toward sustainable prosperity.
