TANGERANG, 2024 – Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) continues to equip its students to become future leaders who are competent, responsible, and ready to contribute positively to society. As part of this ongoing effort, the Department of Student Development & Alumni Engagement (SDAE) organized the Student Organization’s Leader Intensive Development (SOLID) 2024, a leadership development program specially designed for UPH’s student organization leaders.

Held at the D-501 Auditorium, UPH Lippo Village Campus, SOLID 2024 gathered more than 400 student leaders from various Student Associations, Student Organizations, Student Activity Units (UKM), and Student Service Units (ULM). Through this program, participants received essential training in leadership, ethics, communication, and organizational management—skills that are fundamental for fostering decent, inclusive, and growth-oriented leadership in the future workplace.

In the opening session, Dr. Andry Panjaitan, Associate Vice President of Student Development UPH, reminded student leaders that every activity within UPH’s student organizations should reflect the university’s vision of True Knowledge, Faith in Christ, and Godly Character. He emphasized that leadership is about serving with purpose and building integrity. “A leader can only lead when they have a clear vision. We hope students take part in holistic learning so they can become not only skilled, but transformative leaders for the nation,” he said.

Christine Wijaya, Director of Human Resources and Director of Global Partnerships & International Office at UPH, spoke about maintaining personal ethics and commitment in leadership. She encouraged participants to embrace persistence, resilience, and a strong inner drive—qualities that reflect the principles of productive work and continuous self-improvement. “You must know your ‘why.’ Without purpose, motivation fades easily. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard,” she reminded the audience.

Later sessions focused on practical leadership competencies such as priority management, time management, and teamwork. Chrysan Gomargana shared insights on organizing responsibilities efficiently, while Dr. Antakirana, CEO of PT Komunika Cipta Performa, discussed how to lead effectively even with limited resources. He encouraged student leaders to build collaborative cultures and leverage digital tools to enhance productivity—key skills for sustaining growth and innovation in any organization.

Additional discussions led by Jessica Sibarani, Meishiana Tirtana, and Dhamarita Kusumaningrum explored organizational governance, public communication, and partnership development. These sessions equipped student leaders with strategies to manage programs responsibly, build networks, and foster ethical, sustainable organizational practices.

SOLID 2024 concluded with an Inauguration and Appreciation Ceremony on September 12, celebrating the commitment of UPH’s student leaders. Through this program, UPH continues to invest in building a generation that is empowered, capable, and future-ready—leaders who uphold integrity, promote inclusive growth, and contribute to meaningful, sustainable progress for the nation.
