UPH’s Holistic Mental Health Support:
Cornerstone and HOPE in Service of Well-Being

TANGERANG, 2023 – At Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), mental health is recognized not as a peripheral concern but as an essential component of institutional responsibility. To ensure that both students and staff have meaningful access to psychological care, UPH operates Cornerstone Psychological Center, and partners with HOPE Counseling & Assessment Center, offering a dual framework of support that blends professional services with spiritually integrated care. Cornerstone Psychological Center, under the university’s Student Support framework, provides psychological assessments, individual and family counseling (for children, teenagers, adults, couples, and those with special needs), and career or educational guidance. With over 1,000 clients served, the center’s licensed psychologists and certified counselors help clients navigate emotional challenges, gain clarity, and build resilience. Meanwhile, HOPE Counseling & Assessment Center offers a faith-informed counseling environment that maintains confidentiality and professionalism, serving individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, and those facing trauma or life struggles. HOPE Counseling is available to provide counseling services freely, but also provide various paid tests for family, relationships, education, and career matters (MMPI, TJTA, IQ, etc).

As an institution under Yayasan Kristen Harapan & Kasih, HOPE collaborates closely with UPH and STTRI (Sekolah Tinggi Theologi Reformed Indonesia), ensuring continuity between spiritual care and psychological well-being. Together, these two services form a complementary network: Cornerstone offers a broad, secular psychological foundation accessible to campus members, while HOPE extends that support through spiritually grounded counseling for those who desire it. In doing so, UPH demonstrates a deep institutional commitment to creating an environment where mental health is respected, supported, and integrated into the educational mission.
