Universitas Pelita Harapan Bridges Mental Healthcare Gap with Free Counseling Services

TANGERANG, 2023 – Universitas Pelita Harapan is enhancing its commitment to community well-being by providing free psychological counseling services, ensuring that mental health support is accessible to all students, faculty, and staff. This initiative is specifically designed to remove financial barriers, offering crucial support to individuals from every background, including underrepresented groups who may otherwise hesitate to seek professional help.
The services are delivered through two campus-based facilities, the HOPE Counselling and Assessment Center and the Cornerstone Psychological Center. Both centers are staffed by certified counselors and psychologists, equipped to handle a wide spectrum of psychological needs, from personal development to addressing more complex challenges. The centers offer professional and confidential counseling for individuals, couples, and families within the university community.

By making these professional services available at no cost, the university directly addresses the economic obstacles that can prevent access to mental healthcare. This approach ensures that a student’s financial situation does not dictate their ability to receive support, fostering a more inclusive and supportive campus environment. The program is a core part of a broader institutional effort to provide every member of the university community with the resources necessary for both academic success and personal well-being.
