TANGERANG, 2025 – Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) actively initiates and participates in cross-sectoral dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by bringing together various stakeholders from the industry, professional sectors, civil society, government, and academic to address perplexing sustainability challenges.

One major initiative conducted this year was the National Legal Seminar “Reformasi Hukum Acara Penyidikan”, organized by the Faculty of Law UPH on April 17, 2025. The seminar brought together approximately 100 participants and highlighted speakers from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Pelita Harapan, and LBH Jakarta, connecting academic, civil society, and legal perspectives to discuss together Indonesia’s criminal justice reform laws.

The discussion addresses various issues including:

  • Human rights protection.
  • Access to legal assistance.
  • Restorative justice.
  • Judicial oversight.
  • Transparency.
  • Institutional Accountability.

All of which contribute to the aspects of SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), as well as SDG 17 as an implementation of cross-sectoral collaboration.

In addition, UPH facilitates cross-sectoral dialogue on impactful community engagement. In November 2024, UPH collaborated with LLDIKTI Region III to host the 5th Leadership Talks: Higher Education Leadership Discussion 2024, focusing on best practices in community service and its sustainable impact. The forum brought together more than 100 representatives from higher education institutions, government, industry, and other stakeholders to exchange practices and strengthen collaboration in community engagement.

Speakers included the Head of LLDIKTI Region III, UPH leadership, representatives of the Pelita Harapan Education Foundation, former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Dr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, and Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Fauzan. Discussions emphasized partnerships between universities, government, businesses, and communities, as well as innovation, human capital development, and workforce readiness.

Through these platforms, UPH demonstrates its role as a convener of cross-sectoral SDG dialogue, connecting academic knowledge, government perspectives, civil society, industry, and community needs to promote collaborative and sustainable solutions.
