UPH’s Current Collaborations with Health Institutions
UPH Strengthens Global Health Collaboration Through International Partnerships

UPH extends its commitment to health and well-being to the global stage through international partnerships that provide opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional development, and collaborative research. One such partnership is with OTTO Health Care in the Netherlands, formalised through a Letter of Intent in March 2023. Through its International Placement Program, UPH Faculty of Nursing graduates receive international professional exposure and clinical experience, supported by Dutch language training and placements with ETZ Hospital and HMC Hospital. The collaboration remains ongoing, with participating graduates completing the programme in 2025 before returning to Indonesia to contribute their international experience to the national healthcare sector.
UPH also strengthens global health research through the Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology (MRIN), part of the College of Health Sciences UPH. In 2025, MRIN became an official member of the WHO International Pathogen Surveillance Network (IPSN), joining a global network focused on strengthening pathogen surveillance and public health preparedness. Beyond network participation, MRIN secured the 2025 Academy of Medical Sciences Networking Grant in collaboration with the University of Oxford for the INDIGO project on gonorrhoea surveillance in Indonesia. Running from March 2025 to March 2026, the project involves researcher exchanges, scientific workshops, and the development of genomic-based disease surveillance systems, strengthening international knowledge exchange and collaborative capacity in infectious disease research.

Through these partnerships, UPH engages in both international professional exchange and collaborative health research, contributing to global efforts to strengthen healthcare capacity, disease surveillance, and public health.
UPH and Siloam Hospital Group: Long-standing National Partnership

At the national level, UPH has developed long-standing partnerships with healthcare institutions across Indonesia, particularly through the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, and Faculty of Nursing. A key partnership is with PT Siloam Hospitals International Tbk, one of Indonesia’s major healthcare networks. Through this collaboration, UPH strengthens the practical education and professional development of its students while contributing to broader healthcare initiatives across the country.
The partnership supports opportunities for UPH students and healthcare professionals to gain practical experience in diverse healthcare settings, including initiatives that extend healthcare services to underserved and remote communities. These engagements help address disparities in healthcare access while enabling students and faculty to apply their academic and clinical expertise in real-world contexts. UPH faculties also collaborate with healthcare institutions on research and community service activities, including preventive health campaigns, mobile healthcare services, and public health education and training.
Through these national partnerships, UPH integrates health education, professional training, research, and community service to contribute to the development of Indonesia’s healthcare system and expand access to health services across different communities.
UPH Collaborations with Local Healthcare Institutions

At the local level, UPH extends its healthcare engagement to communities surrounding its campuses through collaborations with Siloam Hospital Kelapa Dua, Siloam Clinics, and nearby Puskesmas. These partnerships provide practical training environments for UPH students while supporting the delivery of healthcare and health-promotion activities to the university community and the surrounding public.
Through these collaborations, students gain hands-on exposure to patient care, health promotion, preventive healthcare, and community-based services, including activities such as free medical check-ups, nutrition education, and preventive health campaigns. UPH also works with Siloam Clinics to facilitate healthcare services for members of its own academic community, ensuring that students and staff have access to ongoing health support.
Together, these local partnerships strengthen the connection between education, healthcare services, and community engagement, allowing UPH to contribute to health and well-being both within the university and in the surrounding communities.
